The most important tool of an actor is the self. Mind and body are the tools an actor uses to tell a story and, just like any tool, it must be taken care of and maintained for it to last. This class will delve into the practice of an actor’s self-care. Emotional awareness, Breathwork, and Grounding are just a few of the self-care practices and skills students will grow as they take an important step on the journey of becoming a well-rounded Theater Artist.
Practicing self-care is an important part of a young person’s mental and physical development as it helps manage stress, helps build self-awareness, and helps regulate emotions.
Class Requirements
Detailed information about the requirements for each class can be found in the "About" section of the respective course.
Dress Code
All students are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Sandals, flip-flops, Crocs, and other open-toed footwear are not permitted.
Sick Policy
The health and safety of our students are a top priority. To prevent the spread of illnesses, we ask that sick students remain at home. If a student becomes ill during class, they will be isolated from the other students, and their caregiver will be contacted immediately to pick them up. Students must be symptom-free before returning.
COVID-19 Considerations: In addition to general illness prevention, we recommend the following for students experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or exposure:
- Stay home: Students who exhibit symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should isolate at home.
- COVID-19 testing: If your child has had symptoms or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you should consider giving them a COVID-19 test before returning to class.
- Follow local guidelines: We will adhere to local and state health department guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols.
Late Policy
Students must be picked up promptly at the end of each session. Late fees may apply for late pickup.
