Ahoy Matey! Mermaids and Pirates is a 90-minute, page-to-stage class designed to inspire students to choose their own unique characters. A professional theater artist guides students as they choose a character inspired by books, literature, movies, and plays. Be a Pirate, a Mermaid, or a Crazy Shark if ya' choose! Even a superhero or a princess can join in the fun. Let's find some treasure and do a show!
Curriculum includes:
- DCT artists lead students in theater games to enhance their creativity and teamwork.
- The class will create scenes and rehearse their parts weekly.
- Actors choose their own costumes, learn about backstage roles, and perform onstage.
- The class presents a one-of-a-kind show for family and friends!

Dress Code
All students are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Sandals, flip-flops, Crocs, and other open-toed footwear are not permitted.
Sick Policy
The health and safety of our students are a top priority. To prevent the spread of illnesses, we ask that sick students remain at home. If a student becomes ill during class, they will be isolated from the other students, and their caregiver will be contacted immediately to pick them up. Students must be symptom-free before returning.
COVID-19 Considerations: In addition to general illness prevention, we recommend the following for students experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or exposure:
- Stay home: Students who exhibit symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should isolate at home.
- COVID-19 testing: If your child has had symptoms or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you should consider giving them a COVID-19 test before returning to class.
- Follow local guidelines: We will adhere to local and state health department guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols.
Late Policy
Students must be picked up promptly at the end of each session. Late fees may apply for late pickup.
Refunds
- Fall, Spring, and Summer Sessions:
- Full payment is due at enrollment.
- Partial refunds are available if withdrawal is requested at least two weeks before the session begins. No refunds will be issued after this deadline.
- Mini Sessions:
- Payments for mini-sessions are nonrefundable.
Class Cancellation Policy
DCT reserves the right to cancel any class due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation, students will receive a refund. In the case of inclement weather, DCT cannot guarantee that missed classes can be made up.
