Can you hear me now?? We can if you’ve studied voice! This class explores the various ways we can use our voices. One of the most important tools of an actor is their ability to use their voice in multiple ways. Speaking, singing, rhythm making, sound effects, character voices; these are just some of the ways an actor uses their voice. We explore how our breathing, posture and even what we eat (!) help shape our voice, how it sounds, and how we use it.
Many people, especially children, struggle to effectively communicate and share their thoughts. Studying the tools we use to communicate and best practices for using those tools can help build and strengthen skills that include clearer communication, self-confidence, and self-awareness.
Class Requirements
Detailed information about the requirements for each class can be found in the "About" section of the respective course.
Dress Code
All students are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Sandals, flip-flops, Crocs, and other open-toed footwear are not permitted.
Sick Policy
The health and safety of our students are a top priority. To prevent the spread of illnesses, we ask that sick students remain at home. If a student becomes ill during class, they will be isolated from the other students, and their caregiver will be contacted immediately to pick them up. Students must be symptom-free before returning.
COVID-19 Considerations: In addition to general illness prevention, we recommend the following for students experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or exposure:
- Stay home: Students who exhibit symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should isolate at home.
- COVID-19 testing: If your child has had symptoms or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you should consider giving them a COVID-19 test before returning to class.
- Follow local guidelines: We will adhere to local and state health department guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols.
Late Policy
Students must be picked up promptly at the end of each session. Late fees may apply for late pickup.
