GooseBump Fun To Do

It's not only fun to feel the sensation of goosebumps as the hair on your skin begins to stand up, but it's also fun to share some not-so-scary treats with your kids and friends. These adorably ghoulish snacks and disgustingly delicious punch are perfect for a big group at a party or just as a weekend dessert, especially if you've just come home from DCT's production of GOOSEBUMPS: THE MUSICAL!

Ghost pretzels
In the play and the book, the phantom of the auditorium haunts a group of kids who are just trying to put on a (supposedly haunted) school play, but these little ghosts aren't quite so scary.
What you'll need:
Pretzels
White chocolate chips
Package of candy eyeballs (can be found where you get sprinkles)

Dip pretzels in white chocolate and tap off excess chocolate in the bottom hole. Then, put on wax paper to let the chocolate set. Immediately put two eyeballs in the top loops of the pretzel. After it's all set, they're ready to serve and gobble up. So, come on…show those ghosts that you're not scared of them at all!

Ghost Punch

Normally I'm not a proponent of drinking anything green, but this punch is actually totally yummy, colorful, and very easy to make. I call it punch, but you don't need to serve it out of a fancy bowl with that fancy spoon that always drips. It's just as easy to make a single serving right in your favorite cup.

What you'll need:
Rainbow sherbet
Lemon-lime soda
Green food coloring
Gummy worms (if you really want to be gross!)

Pour lemon-lime soda and add green food coloring - remember just a couple drops will do. Add a scoop of sherbet to each cup and add a worm to show that the sherbet will decompose if you don't drink it up quickly!

DCT Mom thoughts

This year as DCT looks at all the ways we find our way home, we celebrate the different meanings of home. It's more than the walls that house our stuff. It's a place to feel safe and peaceful with those we love most. Sometimes we take pieces of home with us, and we also like to feel at home when we visit other places. Dallas Children's Theater likes to make families and all kids feel at home because we are here just for you. The DCT staff is very much like family since we spend most of our days together; it truly does feel like a home-away-from-home here. Those smiles you see on our faces when you come in are very real! We hope that the genuine love and spirit you experience while here at DCT spreads to all of our audiences, because we do care so much about you.

That also means if you need to bring your special teddy bear when you come to see GOOSEBUMPS: THE MUSICAL, that is okay with us. Your kids can bring theirs, too. They don't even need a lap pass!

Of course, we want you to enjoy your time at the theater, but these activities are for you to enjoy while you are at home, and will hopefully add a little DCT fun into your quality time together away from your theater home.
