Frog and Toad go on many adventures and experience wonderful times together in "A Year with Frog and Toad". Though they are best friends, with a lot of common interests, Frog and Toad actually have many scientific differences.

Did you know that frogs have narrower bodies with longer hind legs that help them take long, high jumps? Toads, on the other hand, have wider bodies with shorter, less powerful hind legs that make them take small hops rather than jumps.

Print this origami jumper, and follow the directions written.

Following the last direction, you will press the back by the hind legs to make it jump. Adjusting your finger pressure, can you make the origami jumper take long, high jumps like a frog? Can you make it take small hops like a toad?

DCT Mom thoughts

"A Year with Frog and Toad" is the perfect musical to incorporate science lessons into your home. Frog and Toad experience the seasons, learn to swim, grow a seedling, and meet some interesting animals along the way! There are great science projects around frogs and toads, seasonal changes and weather patterns, the growth of a plant with watering, feeding, sunshine, etc., and crafts for snails, birds, turtles, mice, and all the other characters in the show!
