About the Contest

What do you believe in? That's a big question, but DCT believes you can show us what YOU believe in when you enter our third annual summer contest. All kids in kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to participate.

Eleven Winners Will Be Chosen!

It's easy to get started…

Choose your favorite medium (the material an artist uses to create his or her artwork). It doesn't matter whether or not you've totally mastered working in that medium. Some options include but are not limited to the following:

Photography
Poster Design
Poetry
Drawing
Video
Costume Design
Mixed Media
A different category of your choosing

Then…

Choose the phrase below that you connect to most personally:

When you've chosen your medium and your phrase, then put your creative skills to work by coming up with your own unique masterpiece.

Inspiration Kit

We mean it when we say "the sky's the limit," but if you need help narrowing down your bountiful ideas, remember great things come in threes. Think "3" when creating your masterpiece. Here are some examples:

3-minute video
3x5 photo
300-word essay
3 verses of a song
3-color drawing
3-inch statue

DCT's Six Easy Steps

Make your creative ideas a reality by following these 6 steps:

Pull out your favorite swatches, camera, beads and baubles and get them at arm's reach.
Look at DCT's Inspiration Kit (above) to get ideas for how you might get started.
Create!
Download, print and fill out DCT's registration form HERE.
Deliver your artwork and registration form to: Dallas Children's Theater, Believe Contest, 5938 Skillman Street, Dallas, Texas 75231. Mail or deliver in person.
All entries must be RECEIVED by 5pm on Monday, July 14th.
